David O'Hara Obituary

David Francis O'Hara, 69, of Hooksett, NH, passed away at his home on October 30, 2021 following a period of declining health. Born on January 25, 1952, he was a son of the late John and Virginia (O'Brien) O'Hara. He shared 31 years of marriage with his wife, Kathleen (Kelly) O'Hara.

David was raised in Wellesley, MA. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA and his Master's degree in Education and Counselor Training from Boston State College. He worked as a guidance counselor at Pinkerton Academy for many years and later worked as the Director of Guidance at Campbell High School, from where he retired. He was very athletic and proudly ran the Boston Marathon twice. He coached middle school track and soccer and basketball, and taught tennis at Rivers Day Camp in Weston, MA. In his spare time, David enjoyed traveling, trivia, and being a member of Mensa.

David is survived by his wife, Kathy O'Hara of Hooksett, NH; his daughters, Kelly O'Hara of Hooksett, NH and Lindsay O'Hara of Lexington, KY; his sisters, Maureen (O'Hara) McDonnell and her husband Mike of Highland Mills, NY and Beth (O'Hara) Miklavic and her husband Kirk of Cape Elizabeth, ME; a close niece, Katie Trainor of Sudbury, MA; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings, Kathy Mullin, Ginny O'Hara and John O'Hara.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 6th at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9-11am with a memorial service at 11am in the funeral home chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Manchester VNA for their kind and compassionate care in David's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the Manchester VNA at https://www.manchestervna.org/
