NEW BOSTON -- Eric Edward Horton, 66, died Dec. 19, 2010, following a period of declining health.
He was born in Biloxi, Miss., to Edward and Laila (Olson) Horton and was a resident of New Boston for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of Boston University. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a project manager with Digital Equipment Corp. for 19 years and Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center for 10 years.
Over the years he coached teams for the Special Olympics, youth soccer and Little League baseball.
Family members include his wife of 42 years, Barbara J. Horton of New Boston; two sons, Kris E. Horton of Williamsport, Pa., and Kurt W. Horton of New Boston; a granddaughter; two brothers, Duane Horton of Atlanta, and Barry Horton of Sandown; a sister, Carla Horton of Saugus, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: In accordance with Eric's final wishes no services will be held and any donations may be directed to Challenger Sports, 168 Maple Street, Manchester 03103 or Special Olympics New Hampshire, 650 Elm St., Manchester 03101.
French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown, will be coordinating arrangements.

Eric was always a quiet, humble man despite his physical ailments. Barbara, you were his helpmate. Just know that Eric is now with the Lord. May God Bless You and your family and comfort you.
