Ernest Desrosiers Obituary
He was born in Manchester on Nov. 8, 1922, the son of Arthur A. and Stella (Fiola) Desrosiers. Ernie graduated from Manchester Central High School and Springfield College, Springfield, Mass. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He is a retired major in the N.H. Army National Guard, 172nd Field Artillery II Corps, serving his country for 32 years, 10 months and 7 days.
Ernie was a retired sales agent and estimator for Miller Industries. He was a Mason and a member of the Lafayette Lodge 41, the Hiram Chapter 24 Royal Arch Mason, Horace Chase Council 4 Royal and Select Masters, and the Mt. Horeb Commandery Knights Templar. Ernie supported the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Scoutmaster for six years with Troop 103, a life member of the National Guard Association of New Hampshire, a member of the National Association for Uniformed Services Chapter 31, a member of the Hooksett Lions Club, Hooksett Entertainers, a member of Robie's Country Store Historic Preservation Committee, a member of the N.H. Aviation Historical Society, and a member of Hooksett Congregational Church, where he served as a trustee, treasurer, moderator, Diaconate member, building committee chairman, and sang in the senior choir. Ernie enjoyed oil painting and had a passion for aviation.
He is survived by two children, Daniel F. Desrosiers and his wife Ann of Manchester, and Mary A. Rennie and her husband Dave of Center Conway; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Langlois of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Desrosiers.

services: Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 24, in Hooksett Congregational Church, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Goffstown. To all of Ernie's family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Breakfast at Robies was always enjoyable with Ernie. Mom, Edna Murray, looked forward to seeing him every morning. He was a caring person and well liked by all. My dad, Bob Murray, spoke very highly of him and was thrilled to be able to travel to DC on the Honor Flight with him.
