Eve Tobin Obituary

MANCHESTER - Eve A. Tobin, 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2016. She was born in Manchester on October 23, 1915, a daughter of Jacob and Lena (Barth) Alter.

Eve graduated from Manchester Central High School and earned her bookkeeping degree from what is currently Southern New Hampshire University. Eve was married to Maurice Tobin who passed away in 1954. She worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper for Beal and Company Inc. in Boston, retiring at age 70. She was a lifelong member of Temple Adath Yeshurun in Manchester. Eve loved to crochet, and every member of her family for three generations has received her lovingly handcrafted afghans.

Eve is survived by three sons, Allan J. Tobin, Daniel R. Tobin, and Samuel J. Tobin and his wife Susan Bloch; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Alter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Janet Hadda.

SERVICES: The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Manchester Hebrew Cemetery Chapel on South Beech Street.
