Fanny Geanis Obituary

MANCHESTER - Fanny (Bardas) Geanis, 95, of Manchester died April 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Manchester on April 5, 1917, the daughter of Vasilios and Athena Bardas.

Prior to retirement, she and her husband James had operated the Horace Greeley Restaurant in Milford for many years. They had also managed the concession stands at the JFK Coliseum, Gill Stadium, and West Side Arena for many years.

Fanny was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a woman of great faith.

Her husband of 63 years, James A. Geanis, died in 2006.

Family members include her daughter, Dianne Jenkins of Manchester; a granddaughter and her husband, Heidi and Mark Murray of Bedford; two great-grandsons, Peyton and Blake Murray; her niece, Pamela Manolakis as well as many other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

services:Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. The Trisagion service will be held at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Dianne and Heidi,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of mother/grandmother. She was truly a wonderful lady.
