MANCHESTER -- Farrell J. Shaw, 66, died July 12, 2009.
He was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Manchester, to Vincent and Marie (Farrell) Shaw. He grew up in Manchester and as a child often accompanied his father on business trips to Louisiana, Puerto Rico and Canada. He graduated from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, majoring in physics and chemistry. He was a member of Phi Kappa Delta, played football and completed a year of medical school.
As owner of P&F Associates, he operated a mobile catering business and auto body shop in Hyannis Port, Mass. He also acquired the license for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and was involved in real estate and other related investments. He was a licensed pilot and car enthusiast. He loved to cook for his family and friends and share his many stories. Farrell enjoyed traveling with his wife to Maine, Canada and Washington State.
IN HIS LIFE: Members of his family include his wife of 16 years, Carolyn A. Hebert-Shaw; five children, Dennis Hebert Jr. of Candia, Jennifer A. Stone of Manchester, Rebecca A. Eaton of Mill Creek, Wash., Kyle Shaw of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Lesley Shaw of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia Cote of Manchester; one niece, an aunt, many cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by two nephews, Keith Cote and Kevin Cote.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., corner of Harrison Street, Manchester. The memorial service is Monday at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Urn burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
