Frances Patryn Obituary

Frances "Fran" L. Patryn, 85, of Bedford, NH, died November 4, 2021, at her daughter's home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Manchester, NH on October 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Stanley and Stefania "Stella" (Karp) Piotrowski. She was raised in Manchester and later lived in Reno, NV while her husband served as an officer in the Airforce. Afterwards, she was a resident of Bedford, NH for most of her life.

Fran graduated from Manchester High School Central, where she was a cheerleader.

After high school Fran worked at Public Service Company of New Hampshire until she married and moved to Washington, DC where her husband, Joseph S. Patryn, was completing dental school. She then moved to Reno, Nevada while Dr. Patryn served as an officer in the U. S. Air Force. She was most proud, and valued, her time as a full-time mother raising her two children. Later, she enjoyed working as a dental assistant as part of Dr. Patryn's dental practice in both Bedford and Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Devoted to her faith, she was a communicant of Saint Hedwig Church.

Fran enjoyed traveling and vacationing, especially in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands at the family condo. Her family was the center of her world. Her grandchildren were especially close to her heart. She resided with them for many years, helping to raise and care for them. She will be missed immensely and held close in heart always.

Fran was married to her beloved husband, Joseph S. Patryn, D.D.S. for forty-two years. Dr. Patryn died on June 5, 2000. She was also predeceased by her loving son, Stephen J. Patryn.

Family members include her daughter, Linda F. Wolsky of Amherst, New Hampshire and her husband Steven Wolsky; a grandson, Joseph Wolsky; a granddaughter, Alexis Wolsky both of Amherst; a step grandson, Nathan Wolsky of Revere, MA; two brothers, Kenneth Piotrowski and his wife Christine of Manchester; Richard "Rick" Piotrowski and his wife Kathleen of Laconia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

To Linda, Steve, and family, please accept our most sincere condolences. My childhood in the 60s and 70s was framed by holidays and family gatherings always including Fran, Joe, Stephen and Linda. “Aunt Frannie” was such a gracious host and her Christmas home was always filled with the smells of Polish foods, along with a supply of home-made fudge in the kitchen. Fran was concerned with everyone’s wellbeing and she was quick to offer support and advice. She was so kind to my children and she’s a part of their holiday traditions as well. Lovely lady. It took a strong and independent person to marry a Patryn, right? It was a lot to juggle but Fran made it look easy. Fran is the last of that generation of Patryn’s and spouses. Pretty sure, where they are, there are keyboards and brass, and they are all dancing the nights away. May they all rest in peace.

Auntie Fran,
You are a wonderful person with a generous and loving heart. You were a role model to me always carrying yourself with grace and dignity. Your love for your parents, husband, children, brothers, and all of your family and friends was always obvious. You put others needs before your own and made all of our worlds a better place. You will never be forgotten. You helped form us into who we are today and may all of your best traits live on in all of us as you will in our hearts. You're in good company now but we miss you.
