Gloria Cote Wood

Gloria Cote Wood, 85, of Pembroke, NH, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025.

She was born on March 31, 1940, in Laconia, NH, to Adelard and Cleophee Cote.

A proud graduate of Laconia High School, Class of 1958, Gloria went on to earn her degree from Notre Dame College in 1962. Throughout her life, Gloria was known for her generous heart, sharp mind, and deep love for animals, especially dogs. She was always happy to lend a hand to friends and neighbors in need of a dog sitter.

Gloria dedicated herself to service in many ways. She was a longtime member of the Bartlett Mother's Club, volunteered at Elliot Hospital, and served as a New Hampshire Granite State Ambassador, where she held several board appointments.

Over the years, Gloria worked in a variety of roles that reflected her adaptability and dedication. She spent time teaching, worked for AT&T, and later served with the State of New Hampshire Health and Human Services as a Social Security Disability hearing officer.

Gloria is survived by her daughter Jodi Wood; her son Jay Wood; her grandchildren, Meg, Ben, Jon, Jake and Jared, and one great-grandchild, Caleigh.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Richard, and her sister, Claire.

A graveside service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Laconia, NH on Tuesday August 26 at 11:00AM.
