Gordon Barnard Obituary

With heavy hearts, but intense pride in the life he lived and the warmth he exuded during his 96 years with us, we announce the passing of our beloved Gordon Leigh Barnard, Jr. on Friday, May 23, 2025. He is deeply missed by his wife Nancy, his daughter Joanne Barnard and her husband, his son James Barnard and his husband, his son David Barnard and his wife, his grandchildren Qadir Barnard-Pratt, Dakarai Barnard-Pratt, and Kiani Barnard-Pratt, and his siblings Alan Barnard and Carol Strickland as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gordon's love of running and windsurfing earned him tremendous admiration and acclaim, and his poetic eloquence compelled one to listen when he spoke. He brought a smile to each person's face that he met and a hearty laugh with his quick wit.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Congregational Church of Goffstown or The Goffstown Lions Club, two organizations he cherished. For more information or to sign an online guestbook please visit www.frenchandrising.com.

Gordy was my idol in our neighborhood on Sagamore St and the trips to Bear Brook State Park when the Barnard and Houghton families would pile "10" of us in one vehicle for a day of summer fun! What a wonderful full life , he is still my idol! Rest in peace my friend, Jon Houghton.
