James Harrington Obituary

James Edward Harrington sadly passed away on April 20th 2024, at his home in Goffstown, New Hampshire shortly after returning from a bucket list trip touring Ireland. Jim was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was the son of Richard and Patricia (Fosher) Harrington.

Jim worked in subcontracts and program management at BAE Systems, enjoying a nearly 39 year career there. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim was an avid believer and practitioner of the "Lake Life" mentality, holding a family cabin at Webster Lake dear to his heart. Jim was extremely active with the Southern New Hampshire Skating Club, and the biggest supporter and fan of his daughter's figure skating career. Jim was a dedicated coach and never once missed a game for any of his children, traveling all over the country to do so. He was a frequent and proud Syracuse University visitor and sports fanatic and would even sacrifice his own collegiate affiliations (as a 1985 University of New Hampshire graduate) to show his love and support for his daughters school.

Jim is survived by his wife Luella Donahoe, two children Michael and Madison, and his grandchildren Alexander and Ava.

His family remains in the area consisting of his siblings: Mark Harrington and Kathy Larivee, and his nieces and nephews: Amy and Jay Harrington (and his son Cameron Harrington),and Jon and Patricia Larivee (and her daughter Quinn Horn)

Jim was so much more than a co-worker of mine. He was always focused on satisfying our customers, which was a huge priority, but he had such a warm spot in his heart. I heard many stories about some family experiences, and it was clear he was a tremendous family man. I can't believe he is gone. He was a great friend and I miss him so much already.

My heart is with you all at this time. I did not know Jim, but my daughter worked with him at BAE. She considered him her "work father" as he always provided patient guidance to her and checked in with her regularly. She speaks very highly of him and will miss his presence. May you find some peace in knowing his kindness touched many.

We had the honor and privilege to have known Jim. Several years ago we met at the skating rinks to watch our daughters learn to skate and cheer them on at the year end skating shows. We always looked forward to seeing Jim at the "JFK". We had so many laughs and great times. Jim was so proud of Maddie and did so much for her. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to Maddie and all of the Harrington family.
