James W. "Bill" Nugent Jr.

James "Bill" William Nugent Jr., 77, of Concord, NH, formerly of Portsmouth, NH, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022 with his wife and children at his side.

Bill, who was also referred to as Jim professionally, was born in Syracuse, NY and raised his family in Liverpool, NY before settling in New Hampshire.

Bill graduated from Syracuse University and had an extensive career in Transportation and Logistics; retiring as Vice President of Operations at TMSi Logistics in 2010. He was an avid baseball and football fan, specifically the Atlanta Braves and New York Football Giants. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his children when they were young. In retirement, Bill enjoyed woodworking, yardwork and gardening.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Nugent of Concord, NH, two sons; Matthew Nugent and wife Emily of Mattapoisett, MA; Benjamin Nugent and wife Katrina of Swanzey, NH, two daughters; Paula McGrade of Dunbarton, NH, Nicole Alcide and husband Yverson of Hopkinton, NH, a sister; Jean Casey and husband Peter of Minoa, NY, eight granddaughters, four grandsons and two great-granddaughters, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents James and Lucy Nugent, his sister Nancy Matson and son Jamey Nugent.

Calling Hours will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, NH 03301.

A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation is preferred.
