Jim Pruett Obituary

LONDONDERRY - Jim Pruett, 53, of Londonderry, NH passed away on Nov. 4, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born James Michael Pruett on April 7, 1965 in Keene, NH to Jack and Frances Pruett.

Jim was a precocious child of great intelligence, often exploring the world in ways that surprised others, like taking appliances apart at a very young age and putting them back together to still function. Jim was well-liked by his peers growing up as his humor and wit kept people in stitches with laughter. Jim also didn't like to be confined by convention either. Jim had a great respect for the military as his Dad made a career out of serving in the military, so after high school Jim joined the Army Reserves. In 1990, Jim's unit was activated for Operation Desert Storm. His service in the military ended in 1995 as a Sergeant.

After various jobs since leaving the military, Jim found his purpose and place in the IT department at Easterseals in 2000 and remained there up until the time of his death. His intelligence and talent gained him an award from the president of Easterseals in just his first year there and again in 2009 as IT Director. Since Jim wasn't married and had no children; he poured his love into his nieces and nephews. His love was evident in the numerous things he did for them without concern for cost or time involved. He is most remembered by them for his quick wit and sense of humor, his crafty and keen sense for problem-solving and his ever present positive attitude.

Jim is preceded by his father, Jack Pruett, and survived by his mother, Fran Pruett, and siblings, Rita (George) Morrison, Keith (Danielle) Pruett, Kathleen (Brian) March, and Teresa Sieg as well as by his nieces and nephews: Lydia, Owen, Ethan, Virginia, Sarah, Hunter, Anna, Brittney and Pete.

There will be a funeral Mass on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Easterseals of NH, 555 Auburn St., Manchester, NH 03103.

Dear Pruitt family,

I am deeply sorry for your loss and for the struggle I'm sure Jim and you all have felt. I am honored to have known Jim and to have been close friends with Keith. I'll always remember watching Bruce Lee movies in your living room while Jack sat behind us watching along. You were all an inspiration to me and helpful to so many.

Jim's service in the military and in many other areas will never be forgotten.

My deepest sympathies and love to you all.

Jim, I will miss seeing your smiling face walking the halls of Easterseals. You have done so much for the agency and always seemed so calm under pressure. I know those who worked closest with you have so many funny stories and fond memories! Thanks for all you did. You will be missed!
