John Brewster Obituary

MANCHESTER - John M. Brewster, 79, of Manchester, died Oct. 7, 2014, at Bedford Hills Center, after a period of failing health surrounded by his family.

He was born in Pittsfield, on June 29, 1935, the son of John M. and L. Gladys (Call) Brewster Sr. He was raised in Barnstead and had been a Manchester resident for many years. He retired in 2005 after working many years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of New Hampshire. He was baptized in 2010 and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling cross country with his wife in their motor home. He also enjoyed going to the cottage on Suncook Lake in Barnstead, where he recently celebrated his 79th birthday.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lorraine (Bisson) Brewster, of Manchester; five children; Leslie Peterson and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, Keith Brewster and his wife, Cathy, of Goffstown; Stacie Prive and her husband, David, of Pembroke, Wendy Mailhot and her husband, Daren, of Deerfield; Jodie Watts and her husband, Robert, of Hooksett and eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Verna Young of Canterbury; several nieces and nephews.

services: Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to Life Choice Hospice, 17 S.
