I had the privilege of working with John at HP not once but twice. He was upbeat, kind hearted, a little hard of hearing, but a genuine friend. In 2000, he was the one who encouraged me to get a new car - instead of trying to get my old car repaired. I later thanked him for that.
I hope his family will find peace and heal quickly at his passing. He will be missed but not forgotten.
