Juliette M. "Julie" Mathieu

Juliette M. "Julie" Mathieu, 89, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday December 18, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 21, 1934 in Sherbrook, Canada, a daughter of the late Albert and Rosalie (Roy) Thibault. Julie was raised and educated in Canada, prior to moving to Lawrence, MA in 1961. She later moved to Derry, NH in 1989. She and her husband, Florian, enjoyed spending summers in their camper at Salisbury State Park where he worked part time after their retirement and wintering at their home in Zephyrhills, FL. She worked for Modicon for 18 years, previously working for Malden Mills for over 11 years. Julie was a devout Catholic and a woman of deep faith. She enjoyed attending daily mass and saying the rosary every morning with her husband. Together, they also enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing the jitterbug, playing cards, watching Red Sox games, spending time with family and friends, and their annual trips to Vegas. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, warmth, love for her family, quick wit, and smile that could light up any room.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Florian Mathieu of Derry, six children, Andre Mathieu and wife Chrissie of Worcester, MA, Daniel Mathieu and wife Sharon of Methuen, MA, Michael Mathieu and wife Gretchen of Weare, NH, Johanne LaPlante of Summerfield, FL, Carole DeBidart and husband George of Euless, TX and Michelle King and husband Scott of Derry; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 6 step-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
