Laura Lemire Obituary

Laura M. Lemire, born on January 12, 1989, in Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2025, at Mass General Hospital after a lifelong battle with Propionic Acidemia. Laura's life was marked by her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and her deep commitment to her family, friends, and community.

Raised in Manchester, Laura graduated from Manchester Memorial High School in 2010. She spent her entire life in the greater Manchester area, cherishing the connections she made with those around her. Known for her outgoing and gregarious nature, Laura had an innate ability to make people smile. She loved socializing with people and always thrived in the company of others, as her spontaneity and genuine love for those around her will leave a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Laura poured her heart into coaching girls' basketball alongside her father at the Derryfield School, where she was affectionately known as "Coach Laura." Her love for sports extended beyond basketball; she was actively involved with the Moore Center and CIS, participated in Challenger Sports, and proudly took part in the Special Olympics. For over 30 years, she took riding lessons at the UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center in Goffstown, NH. Laura also enjoyed art, especially her classes at the Currier Museum.

In addition to her contributions as a coach and community member, Laura cherished time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed dinners with them and attended live theatre shows, always valuing the moments spent with loved ones. Laura always enjoyed travel and her annual family vacation in Wells Beach, ME.

Laura is survived by her father Edward Lemire; mother Judith (Neiland) Lemire; brother Robert Lemire and his wife Nicole; nephew Asher Lemire; grandmother Rita (McKeon) Lemire; Aunts and Uncles Robert and Susan Lemire, Richard and Marybeth Lemire, Margaret and Gary Persichetti and Stephen and Ann Marie Lemire; cousins Jonathan Lemire and his wife Carrie Melago, Joseph and Penelope Lemire, Paul Persichetti, Madison Devoe, Ashley Lemire & Grace Lemire; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents Theresa (Charron) Neiland, Francis Neiland, and Robert C. Lemire Sr., along with her uncle Gerard Lemire.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, located at 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH. I am so sorry to hear about Laura´s passing. I spent many summers with Laura when she worked at camp. I will always remember her sense of humor and her love for life. She was always willing to help and was sure to put a smile on the face of everyone she came in contact with. She took pride in her family and in her coaching responsibilities. I can´t think of Three Stooges without thinking of her! Manchester is a better place because of Laura! Wishing you all comfort during this difficult time.
