Miles Goldberg Obituary

MADBURY - Miles Steven Goldberg, 13, of Madbury, died May 8, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family and friends, after a lengthy illness.

He was the son of Matthew and Jennifer, and brother to Louis, 10; grandson of Joanne and David Jeannette of Manchester, Jet Goldberg and Steve Mathiason of Manchester and the late Steven Goldberg, Gloria Goudreau of Hampton and the late Maurice Goudreau, and Irwin and Louise Natt of New York City; nephew of Sarah and Nick Stavropoulous of Bedford, David and Sarah Natt of Portsmouth, Rebekah and Chad Renaud of Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth Goldberg and Stephanie Appleton of Merrimack, Joseph Natt of Hauppaugue, N.Y., and Alexander Natt of Huntington, N.Y. He had many great-aunts, -uncles and cousins around the country.

Miles was an active and enthusiastic eighth-grade student at Oyster River Middle School and competed vigorously as a player and part-time coach for Oyster River youth football, hockey, and baseball. His efforts and success as a team leader earned him great respect among teammates, coaches, and families in the community.

People often described Miles as being wise beyond his years, and he was blessed with the gift of gab. A serious student, he craved knowledge and heightened understanding. He wished to travel extensively, and took advantage of early opportunities to pursue that interest, taking trips to Australia, Puerto Rico, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, and most recently, Washington, D.C.

A proud ""foodie,"" Miles enjoyed experimenting with flavors from around the world, both in fine restaurants and his own kitchen, where he created his own recipes and perfected his culinary skills. He treasured family gatherings and celebrations with friends, and actively participated in compiling the menu for special occasions.

A passionate fan of Boston sports, he especially enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots.

He was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Miles' Family and Loved Ones,
I am so surprised and saddened to read of Miles' passing. I'm sure he had no idea, but he was an inspiration to me as well. I participated in the Medical Exercise Program at Seacoast Center for Athletes. He would often be training at the same time that I was. There were days when I had push myself to even go and then would be so inspired by his positive energy and determination. Without ever knowing it he pushed me to do what I needed to do as he did the same. God bless him and all of you during this incredibly sad and difficult time. My heartfelt sympathy,

It could be that red cardinal or butterfly landing near you or even finding pennies all of which seem to appear. Embrace them and know he is coming to say hi and he is okay. Another way for him to send his love to us.
