Nancy Horten Obituary
Born on 2/11/1941 and raised in Illinois, she was the daughter of Ralph and Pauline Potter and stepdaughter of Eleanor, Virginia and Marilyn Potter, who predeceased her. She lived in the New England area for 57 years
She attended the schools in Skokie and Evanston, Illinois. Nancy earned her B.A. in English at Indiana University in 1964, her M.Ed in 1971 and C.A.S. in 1972 in Elementary Counseling at the University of Maine/Orono.
Nancy was an educator in regular and special education for grade school through junior college for 35 years. Her final 17 years was as elementary counselor at Jewett Street School, Manchester, NH.
Her lifelong passion was working with horses. An avid horsewoman, she pursued her interests as rider, instructor and equine myofascial therapist. She practiced mind-body balancing/behavioral therapies with horses, rehabilitating horses with these issues through her business Equinequilibrium and dressage/event instruction. Her riding specialized in eventing and dressage, riding for over 50 years and earning numerous
awards/ribbons in events and shows throughout New England.
She is survived by her sister, Dr. Cynthia Tenicki and husband Joseph; niece and nephews, Samantha Hole and husband Nate, Dr. Peter Tenicki and Christopher Tenicki; and others in the equestrian community of New Hampshire, New England and beyond.
SERVICES: Graveside services to be held on 10/1/21 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry, NH, at 11 a.m.
Arrangements provided by Phaneuf Funeral Home, Manchester where a full

I worked with Nancy for several years at the Jewett Street School in Manchester, NH. Nancy's kind demeanor and complete dedication to her students were resolute. She was a lovely lady. My sincere condolences to her family.

I met Nancy several years ago in Londonderry. We were both involved with the Londonderry Women´s Club. I always enjoyed speaking to her at our meetings. May she RIP. Sincere sympathy to her family.
