Nathan Edwards Obituary

Nathan Riley Edwards, 16, of Bedford, NH, beloved son of David and Colleen (O'Reilly) Edwards, passed away due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident on January 5, 2024. His family will miss his infectious smile, his mischievous sense of humor, his encompassing hugs. He was Nate, Nedwards, Ned, Noodle. He was the bright center of their world.

Nathan was a sophomore at Bedford High School. He had a large circle of friends he loved and who loved him. He had an inside joke or special connection with everyone he met. Nathan lit up any room he entered, and he made everything more fun. He made us laugh every day.

Nathan loved sports. He aspired to be a D1 runner. His event was the 400m, but he competed in many events for the varsity track team. He loved to play basketball on town teams including the St. Elizabeth Seton CYO team. He often played with friends in the driveway or at the Riddle Brook courts. Nathan recently became a passionate golfer. He played as often as he could with his dad and friends over the summer and fall.

Nathan was a film fanatic, watching hundreds of movies both classic and new. He loved talking about movies and sharing recommendations with family and friends. Like many boys his age, Nathan was also an avid gamer, spending many hours in his room playing all sorts of games.

Nathan loved to travel, especially with his sister Abigail and his brother-in-law Jake. The family made countless trips to Disney World, where he rode as many roller coasters as possible. Nathan loved swimming in the ocean, spending most summer weekends with his extended family in Cape Neddick, Maine.

His family will treasure every moment of the sixteen years they had with him.

Nathan is survived by his loving parents, David and Colleen Edwards of Bedford, NH; his sister Abigail and her husband Jake Hill of Birmingham, AL; his grandparents Thomas and Anne O'Reilly of Cape Neddick, ME, Bet Rothwell of Afton, VA, and Marvin Edwards of Charlottesville, VA; his uncle Thomas O'Reilly and his wife Tami of Naples, FL; as well as many cousins and great aunts and uncles.

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, located on 190 Meetinghouse Rd. in Bedford, NH. A celebration of Nathan's life will be held immediately after at the Manchester Country Club, open to all who would like to attend.

So sorry for your loss. The accident was behind my house and I was there on the scene. If it brings any consolation, I prayed out loud asking Nathan to cry out to Jesus. May he be in God's hands with all the angels and saints!

Heartfelt sympathies to the family,

There is nothing more tragic to me then the passing of young people whose lives have barely begun. May the road rise to meet him. RIP
