Pauline Thibeault Obituary

Pauline Nault Thibeault, 60, of Manchester, NH, passed away on July 3, 2025, after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Manchester on July 22, 1964, she was the daughter of Eddy and Therese (Tremblay) Nault. A lifelong resident of the Queen City, Pauline was deeply rooted in the community that she served so faithfully throughout her life.

She graduated from Manchester Memorial High School in 1982 and went on to earn a degree in Biology from Saint Anselm College in 1986. Driven by a passion for learning and a gift for teaching, she later earned her master's degree in education from University of New England.

For many years, Pauline taught chemistry at Manchester Memorial High School, the very school she once attended. She was not only a gifted educator, but a beloved mentor and cherished colleague. Her classroom was a place of curiosity, encouragement, and warmth, qualities that mirrored her own spirit. As advisor to the Chemistry Club and a former department head, she poured her time, energy, and heart into inspiring the next generation of scientists. Her students and fellow faculty members meant the world to her, and she built many enduring friendships throughout her career. She was also a proud member of the Manchester Education Association.

Outside of her work, Pauline found great joy and companionship in her love for Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. She bred and raised them with care and devotion through her affiliation with the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS). Her love for animals reflected the quiet tenderness and nurturing nature that defined her.

Those who knew Pauline will forever remember her gentle, kind, and selfless heart. She was known for her quiet strength, unwavering generosity, and the countless ways she gave of herself to others, whether through teaching, mentoring, or simply being present. She found peace by the ocean and cherished time spent at the beach with family and friends.

Above all else, Pauline was devoted to her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty-seven years, Christopher Thibeault; two cherished daughters, Ashley Barry and her husband, Joe, of Deerfield, and Danielle Thibeault of Manchester; her siblings, Maurice "Moe" Nault and his partner, Donna Gamache; Raymond Nault and his wife, Lynn; Estelle Votour; Lucille Marston; Celeste Nault-LaPointe and her husband, Bob; Suzanne St. Jean and her husband, Ken; and Michele Shea and her husband, Dave; as well as many adored nieces and nephews.

Her presence was a gift, her loss is profound, and her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Services: Calling hours are Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

The funeral will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont Street, Manchester, NH.

Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manchester Memorial High School Science Department, 1 Crusader Way, Manchester, NH 03103, where a scholarship will be awarded in Pauline's name, a lasting tribute to her passion for education and her enduring legacy.

I just learned of Pauline's passing. I grew up with the Nault family. Pauline's mom used to babysit me and Michelle tot me how to ride a bike. I remember Pauline being a beautiful person inside and out. We played barbies together and worked at "Blakes on Valley" restaurant together. She was so excited to go to college (she really liked Boston University) and get on with her life. Pauline was a longtime childhood friend that I will never forget.

The loss of Mrs. Thibeault leaves a hole greater than any one person can describe. My heart aches not only for all those that loved and cherished her, but for the students to come who won’t get to experience her warmth, empathy, and incredible passion for the molecule H2O. I don’t think there’s a single soul that can make water as exciting as she did.
Thank you to her family for sharing her with us as students. She was everything to us. Rest in peace. May you live on in all of us.

Please accept my condolences on Pauline's passing. Pauline was a colleague of mine for many years. She was beautiful both inside and out. She was a caring and dedicated teacher. She was one of a kind. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I am going to share a comment from one of her former students:

Oh I am so sad to see this! She was my absolute favorite teacher at Memorial. She was so kind and patient. I did terrible in my first semester of chemistry and absolutely hated the subject but she was so helpful and encouraging and I ended up doing well thanks to her! My heart is so sad.

May her memory forever be a blessing,

Worked with Pauline at Memorial; she was the consummate professional, beloved by staff and students alike, a natural teacher as was clearly noted at her service which my wife and I were honored to serve at. In addition to sending a small donation to The MMHS Science Department, we are having a Mass said at St. Anthony's on July 23 at 8 a.m. With deepest sympathy to her whole family -- and special thanks to her brother for the most outstanding eulogy, exactly what Pauline deserved.

To Chris and the Thibeault/Nault families: Back in the 80's, I was fortunate to see Pauline Nault daily when she was a student in my English class. Several years later, I got to see her again in the hallways and the teachers' room when Mrs. Pauline Nault Thibeault became an impactful and cherished member of the MMHS faculty. As Mrs. Petzold stated, the testimony of Pauline's life was heartfelt and beautifully written. However, after reading it, I also took another, longer look at her picture and the memories it generated. I will never forget her willingness to help a co-worker/advisor (me!) or the impact the four words on the shirt I wore that began “MEMORIAL IS...” had on me the first time I put it on. The picture is exactly how I remember Pauline during my years at Memorial and how I want to remember her forever...especially that beautiful smile. To the Thibeault/Nault families...thank you for sharing her with us!

Mrs. Jacqueline Petzold

What a beautifully written testimony to honor this amazing woman who touched so many lives. My deepest condolences to your family. I had the pleasure to work with Pauline, and as many know, she had a gift. May God hold a special place for her beside him.

Mrs. Thibeault was a one-of-one teacher -- the kindest, most nurturing soul who was always willing to help her students. One of my favorite memories of her classroom was the holiday fundraiser for Toys for Tots. That was nearly 20 years ago, but I will never forget how passionate she was about that organization and how moved I was of her strength to share such a personal story. By doing so, she taught her students so much more than chemistry, but more importantly about being empathetic, giving individuals. The thousands of students who she positively impacted over her many years of teaching will continue to carry on her legacy and bright light. Sending strength and love to her family.

Ms. Thibeault was a fantastic chem teacher. I won’t ever forget making stuffed moles for “mole day” or cleaning all of the labware for extra credit (this was in 2010).

Thibeaubs (pronunced ‘teebs’) thank you for a great year of chemistry and for being a mentor.

I hope it brings a smile to her face to know I have a career in chemistry, thanks to her.

Condolences to the family and may she rest in peace.

Mrs. Thibeault had that sweet, kind way about her that allowed you to trust her as a student when she pushed you a little bit. This was a letter I wrote her when I graduated, and it no doubt stands the test of time. All my love to you, Ashley, and the rest of your family!

Dear Mrs. Thibeault,

As my final high school days come to an end, I look back and remember all the teachers that I have had and the ones that have impacted me these past four years. To recognize their efforts I wrote them all little thank you notes, but when I thought of you, I knew I would need more than just a thank you note to describe how much you have meant to me.
From sophomore year I have known you and it´s been a growing relationship ever since. I remember in Chemistry (I) how enjoyable you made the subject and how well you were able to teach it. And you always had that bright smile on your face that made it so much fun and enjoyable to come to your class. And towards the end of the year when I had to make a decision for what science I would take my junior year, I was willing to rise to the challenge of AP Chemistry because I knew you would be teaching it and how helpful you would be. And honestly, Mrs. Thibeault, I couldn´t have been more right. AP Chemistry was by far the hardest class I took these past four years, but you were always there willing to lend an extra hand, willing to stay that extra hour, willing to show that extra demonstration. You never gave up on me, which is why I never gave up on myself. And these qualities you possessed made you a teacher like few others. You care about learning, you care about the subject you teach, and most importantly you care about your students.
Even outside the classroom, I knew I could always count on you to be there for me. Thank you for writing that recommendation for me. Thank you for having the patience to deal with me when it would take me so long and so many times after school to understand a concept. And thank you for always leaving your door open. You are a teacher that is so welcoming and encouraging that it makes students like me appreciate you so much.
Over the past three years, Mrs. Thibeault, you have become an amazing mentor, teacher, and an even more, an unforgettable friend to me. The kind of hard work and dedication you display is so inspiring to me. And the kind of love and care you always have is what makes you stand out from the pack. You are such an understanding teacher and for that I thank you. You have a gift, and I hope that you are able to share that gift with so many other students, just like you shared it with me. I hope that we will be able to keep in touch for years to come. I will always remember you and everything you have always taught me. I can´t thank you enough for all that you have done for me.

Love, Joe Belanger

Almost twenty years later, I still have such fond memories and laughs from my time in honors and AP chemistry. Mrs. Thibeault was one of my favorite teachers throughout my time at Memorial.
