ALTON BAY -- Peter G. Rice, 70, of Woodlands Road, died Nov. 10, 2008, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.
He was born in Natick, Mass., on May 20, 1938, to Theodore and Doris (Gray) Rice. He was raised in Natick and resided there most of his life. He lived in Alton Bay for the past 10 years, after having spent many years coming up for weekends and vacation time.
Mr. Rice retired 10 years ago, having owned and operated Rice Heating and Air Conditioning in Natick.
He loved living at the home he built on Lake Winnipesaukee. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars.
Family includes his wife, Marie E. Lawson; five stepdaughters, Donna Burns, Judith Chamberland, Cynthia Booth, Lynda Morin and Janet Smith; seven grandchildren, a great-grandson, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Dianne Grace.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton 03809. A funeral service is Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in New Riverside Cemetery, Alton.

Marie, I'm very saddened and sorry to hear of Peter's passing. My heart and condolences go out to you and the girls. I have many fond memories of time spent with him in Natick. Know that he is in a better place now and we'll all be together again all too soon.
