I am saddened to hear of Mr. Cantara´s passing. He was one of my favorite customers at the pharmacy. He used to bring me in stuff from his garden. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Many of my earliest memories are set in Richard's home. It feels almost like a dream now, seeing him in his kitchen, or in his garden. Hearing his voice, and feeling his colossal hugs. In a childish way, I took it for granted. That my Pepe would always be around.

I regret that, in the time I knew him, I was not yet mature enough to truly relate to Richard. I think of all the things we could've talked about. All the stories he still had yet to tell. I wonder if there are times in my childhood that I myself don't remember, that Richard looked back on fondly.

I will treasure what memories I do still have of Richard. I will treasure the memories of a gentle giant that I called Pepe, and the love he shared with me in the brief time that our lives overlapped.
