ALLENSTOWN -- Robert A. Maker, 80, of Hamel Avenue, died May 12, 2010, at Epsom Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Ipswich, Mass., March 28, 1930, to George and Martha (Osgood) Maker. He moved to Manchester and then spent the past 23 years in Pembroke and Allenstown.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, having served on the USS William T. Powell.
A warehouseman, he retired from Associated Grocers in 1992. He was a member of Teamsters Local 633 and a former member of the Alpine Club.
He enjoyed eating fried clams and sitting by a camp fire.
Members of his family include his wife of 23 years, Nancy (LeClair) Maker of Allenstown; two children, Dana Maker of Enfield, Conn. and Lisa Overton of Litchfield; four stepchildren, David Girard and Dan Girard, both of Epsom, Karen Johnson of New Boston and Michelle Boisvert of Concord; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Shirley MacRae of Ipswich, Mass.; a brother, Scott Maker of Michigan; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Allenstown.
