What a beautiful beautiful man you were Roger. My deepest of deepest condolences to your family, especially your beloved New Hampshire based sister. My heart aches, I had no idea what you were going through. I wish I would've called you when my inner voice urged me to in April and May. You always saw the goodness in others. How many times would you say in your kind Roger voice, "Now Shannon you know..."and then you would give a grace-filled benefit of the doubt explanation. Roger, you were a faith+filled GIANT whose walk with our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was so evident to me in the quiet humble way you lived each and every second of your life when I was in your presence whether in the Old Town Trolley morning briefings, years later stopping by the Park Plaza lobby to say hello to you, your offer to attend St Cecilia's Church, and the joy you expressed to spend time with your sister in New Hampshire for the holidays. Roger even now...your spirit is comforting me as I cry (Rev Timothy Wright's "Leaing
On Everlasting Arms" and Myron Williams' "All I Need" randomly playing and in the background). The only solace I have is you're no longer suffering, the fact that I told you how grateful and thankful I was to you, and the season in which you taught the importance of family. I pray you were welcomed into the pearly gates of heaven with a proclamation of "Well done."

Roger and I were neighbors and fellow congregants (since 1989) at Mary Queen of Peace parish in Salem NH. We've been friends ever since and Roger had stayed at our hotel in Ogunquit ME & recently vacationed with us at our home in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We are thankful and feel blessed for the memories we have when he stayed with us. Roger was truly and honestly the best friend anyone could ever ask for, always sending birthday/holiday cards and calling often. His loss will be felt by many as he was one of the kindest and most genuine people we've ever known. We are profoundly saddened with the loss, yet most grateful for his relatives who took such good care of him in the final days. May he always find peace and solace in Heaven.
My Dearest Friend Roger...my eyes tear as I write this because we won't see you anymore. I hope you know...from the depths of our souls...that you were the best friend anyone could ever ask for and will always be remembered in our lives. Your pain is now over and you lie in the Arms of the Angels. May Almighty God Bless you and your family, our dearest long time friend. Our hearts are collectively broken and words cannot express our sense of loss. Roger was honestly and truly was the best friend we have ever had.
We thank his family and niece Kristen for keeping us posted and updated on his condition. May they find solace and peace knowing they were so caring and wonderful to Roger in his final weeks. Amen.

Im sorry for your loss. I knew Roger through the GBCA and he came to hear me sing a couple times, he was always a ray of sunshine, it was always nice to speak with him and to hear from him. He will be missed.

Roger has always been a kind and caring man. He prided himself about taking care of his guests and giving them the best possible experience while in Boston. He touched the lives of so many people. Roger, you made Boston a better place, RIP.
