MANCHESTER -- Roger L. "Beanie" Goulet Sr., 87, died Oct. 28, 2010, after a long illness.
He was born March 28, 1923, in Manchester to Octave T. and Eva C. (Bellefeuille) Goulet. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester and a graduate of West High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as Quartermaster, Second Class.
He served as head steward at the Mount Royal Club for 43 years until his retirement in 1988, after which he worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a member of many clubs, including the Mount Royal Club, The Rimmon Club, the Candian Club, and the Queen City Pool League. He was an avid pool player and sports fan, playing on many local teams in his youth.
Family members include his four sons, Roger L. Goulet Jr., Alfred Goulet, Robert Goulet, and George Goulet, all of Manchester; one daughter, Elaine Tousignant, of Allenstown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet Deveault, of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Goulet was predeceased by his wife, Esther.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., corner of Union Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 247 South Main St., Manchester. Committal prayers and military honors will follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Disabled American Veterans, 399 Silver St., Manchester, 03103. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements. As his grandson I couldn't be more proud to have had him for a grandfather. I love him and miss him. And the year of caring for him in his final leg in life will be something I cherish for the rest of my life.

I could not have been blessed to have a more wonderful father.Was raised in a warm and secure wonderful catholic home.Where all and every need need were met."
