Rose Gagnon Obituary
Even though she was so sick, Rose was in good spirits until the end. As a nurse, Rose thought of others before herself always and known by all as a generous and giving soul. Rose was happiest when surrounded with her children, family, friends and dogs and said that they were her strength and foundation. She was an artist and an avid gardener. Every day of the summer she was outside with her flowers. Rose loved to explore & travel and found inspiration wherever she went.
Rose is survived by her daughters Missy and Jennifer Vannest, Brother Roland Gagnon and Florence Belanger of Berlin, NH, Mary VanHeel of Ebsom, NH, Henry Gagnon of Dixmont, ME, Pierre Gagnon of Bow, NH, Claire Washburn of Greenville, NH, her best friend of many years Karen Martel, her dogs Hilda and Tilly, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends and distant family members. Rose was predeceased by her parents Roland and Irene Gagnon, her brother Leo Gagnon, her nephew Heath Roy, and great nephew Miles.
She will be remembered all the days of our lives, and her shining light will be sorely missed. We love you.

SERVICES: Life celebration will be held at the VFW on 18 Railroad Ave., Derry, on Saturday July 9, from 1 to 5 p.m. Potluck event.

I am heartbroken. Although I knew Rose for only a short time, I can say with certitude that she was one of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. I will miss her. My condolences to all her wonderful family.

Dear Jenna and Missy,
So very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Alan and I want to give you our sincere condolences. She definitely was one of the better women we've ever known. We went through some rough times over the years and many more awesome times riding around, traveling with the music cranked!! Our Sista's weeks at the camp(what happens at the camp stays at the camp ;-..and of course Yellowstone!!! i was always so proud of you and still am. And always have and will always love you so much..Now you're at peace with Mom and Dad and Brother Leo..please give them the biggest hugs for me. Thank you for all the time we had together and most of all, thank you for choosing me to be your big sister, and loving me back so much ..this picture is of a heart carved out in the Grand Tetons National Park mountains that we saw on our trip to Yellowstone!! I'm heartbroken that Rose left us so soon--my thoughts are with her family. I knew her through her work on the nurse helpline. I remember one call in particular when Rose helped a young wife perform CPR on her pulse less husband. She was so strong in that call, trying to keep a hysterical woman on task and, though calm in the moment, was quite shaken, herself, afterwards. Rose was a sensitive, kind, engaging, and adventurous woman who loved her family and was a treasure to work with. She's left an indelible mark on us all.

Hi Rose! This is my 3rd try to write in this guestbook, and I know you're playing with my computer!! I love you so, so much and will miss you even more. I've been so blessed to have you in my life all these years including having you for my Maid of Honor 36 years ago!! You were always the adventurous one of the two of us, and you'd always pull me along with you, and we'd end up having so much fun!! Life was never boring around you! You lived life to the fullest no matter what was going on in your life at any given time. You showed me your love and support through thicker and thickest. We weren't always able to get together as often as we'd like, but when we did, it's as if we'd seen each other just the day before. I love that about our special friendship!! That's you, Rose!! I love how you love Missy and Jen like a Mama Bear and NO ONE could get between you and your baby cubs!! Missy and Jen now know the intensity of a Mom's love, which is a wonderful gift they'll treasure forever. I'll treasure our special relationship and the heart connection we alway had.
