Stanley Maksalla Obituary

Stanley G. Maksalla of Hooksett, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at Concord Hospital Hospice after a valiant effort battling cancer for many years. He was 79 years old. Stan was born on January 2, 1946, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to John S. Maksalla and Anne J. Maksalla.

He attended local schools in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1964. Stan received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from New Hampshire College (currently Southern New Hampshire University). Stan was a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Hampshire and Maryland and had over 45 years of experience in the public and private sectors, including supervisory experience with an international public accounting firm in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as ownership of a local accounting firm in New Hampshire acquired by McCafferty and Company of Nashua, New Hampshire. In addition to his public accounting background, Stan was a region controller for a publicly held company for nine years, as well as a manager owner of several other businesses, including co-owning Anton's Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire, with his late wife Mary Anne Maksalla. Stan was a consultant with New Hampshire Hydraulics of Merrimack, New Hampshire, for many years. He held memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Hampshire and Maryland Societies of Certified Public Accountants.

During his career, Stan was associated with, and helped found, various non-profit organizations and held several chair positions with the Manchester Chamber of Commerce in New Hampshire. Of particular note, Stan was a founding incorporator of the Nashua Police Athletic League providing valuable services to help Nashua PAL secure its non-profit status and completing the 990 filings for many years. Thirty-four years ago, Stan offered to organize and run a golf tournament for Nashua PAL, which has become the organization's major fundraising event to this day. Stan was a prolific and proficient lifelong golfer and played on his high school and college teams. He competed in numerous city tournaments and the New Hampshire Amateur Championship Tournament numerous times. He participated in many charity golf tournaments each year, and if you were lucky enough to have him in your foursome, you got an awesome playing partner and even better friend to spend the day with.

Stan is predeceased by his parents, John S. Maksalla and Anne J. Maksalla; and his wife Mary Anne (Olshewsky) Maksalla. Stan and May Ann enjoyed forty-five years of marriage prior to her death on July 4, 2013.

Stan is survived by his sister Patricia Maksalla of Nashua, New Hampshire; his nephews, Jeremy Fuller of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and Matthew Fuller of Amherst, New Hampshire.

The services for Stan will be private and at the convenience of the family. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. To view Stanley's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.
