William Arthur "Bill" Walsh Jr. obituary, Manchester, NH

William Walsh Obituary

William Arthur Walsh, Jr, BS, MS, PE of Manchester passed away on May 19th, 2023, approximately three weeks prior to his 102nd birthday. He was a talented engineer whose life revolved around his family and career.

Bill grew up in East Hampton CT, graduated from Middleton High School (1939) and

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1943), a member of Delta chapter SAE, served in

World War II as US Navy Lt.JG and received his MS again at WPI (1947). In addition

to his career as a chemical engineer, he was a pioneer in the snowmaking industry,

and held patents on dual-fluid atomization nozzles with applications in numerous industries.

He was the husband of Kathleen (nee Burpee) of Manchester, and is survived by his son William and wife Jeanette of Salem, SC; daughters Marguerite Walsh and husband Harry Umen, and Kathleen W. Deady, all of Manchester; and grandchildren Erin and Matthew Deady, Brigid Walsh, Benjamin and Mari Umen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his wife and son Richard P. Walsh.

Interment with military honors will be at Pine Grove Cemetery on his birthday, June 16, at 12:00 noon, followed by a celebration of life with friends and family at the family home.
