ST. PARIS - Alice Marie Baker, 87, of St. Paris passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in her residence. Born November 6, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Walter Elsworth and Celia Mae (Hamilton) McCain. She married Elwood R. Baker on January 14, 1950 and he survives in St. Paris.
Together they raised two children, Deby Baker Williams of St. Paris and Jeff Baker who preceded Alice in death. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lindsey (Kevin) Day and nine great grandchildren; Alex & Natalie Zerkle, Gabriel, Sophia, Hazel, Lucy, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Oliver Day and a sister, Helen Coleman of Jena, Louisiana. In addition to her parents and son, Jeff, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Dawn Zerkle, David Zerkle and brother Carl McCain.
Alice was a member of the St. Paris United Methodist Church and Champaign County Homemakers Extension. She collected Santa Clauses and loved dogs.

Funeral services will be on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the ATKINS-SHIVELY FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Richards of the Riversong Worship Center of North Lewisburg presiding. Pallbearers will include, Alex Zerkle, Gabriel Day, Shawn Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Logan Thompson, Gregg Thompson, Doug Thompson, Barry Thompson, Mike Rogers and honorary pallbearers, Nicholas Day and Oliver Day. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
