Beverly Sue "Nan" Helms

1948 - 2021

URBANA - Beverly Sue (Johnson) "Nan" Helms, 73, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born June 17, 1948 in Hixon, Tennessee the daughter of Ernest Luther and Bethina (Millwood) Johnson. She worked at Drackett and later retired from W. B. Marvin's. Beverly loved her furbabies and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Kathy) Helms; daughters: Pamela (Jeff) Craig and Barbara Schaffer; grandchildren, Christopher Schaffer, Ashley (Chris) Baumgardner, Madison Baker; step grandchildren, Matthew Craig and Clayton Craig; great grandchildren, Jaden Schaffer, Preston Schaffer, Drake Schaffer, Lucas Schaffer, Wynter Schaffer, Evangeline, Reannon; step great grandchildren, Josh and Emily Craig; Aunt Imojean; sister-in-law, Sussie Johnson and special friend, Diane Evilsizor as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Gary Helms Sr.; two brothers and four sisters; grandson, Kyle Schaffer; great grandson, Tristan Schaffer; brothers-in-law, Lee Moore and Buddy King.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of Dayton for their care.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021 in the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery.
