URBANA – Donald "House" Rittenhouse, 72 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Sept. 29, 2025 in the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
He was born on May 22, 1953 in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Legustie and Doris (Harris) Rittenhouse.
Donald dedicated 22 years of service to Drackett until its closure, and later retired after 20 years with Rittal. A proud graduate of Northeastern High School, he was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for firearms and was known as a gun enthusiast. Don also loved riding his Harley and the thrill of drag racing. A true all-around mechanic, he had a gift for fixing just about anything.
He is survived by the love of his life, Holly (Williamson) Rittenhouse. Together, they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, beginning on May 24, 1974. He is also survived by sisters, Jane (Dick) Hines; Susan (Miles) Pullins; brothers, Phillip (Sherrian) Rittenhouse, Steve Rittenhouse, Ronald (Chris) Rittenhouse; sisters-in-law, Robin (Doug) Rittenhouse, Claire (Kerry) Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Rittenhouse; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rittenhouse and Cora Rittenhouse.
Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to your favorite charitable organization.
In accordance with Don's wishes, there will be no formal services, and he will be cremated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOMES.
