URBANA - George E. "Punk" Frieszell Jr., 71 of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Feb. 29, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio to George and Barbara (Baynum) Frieszell. George attended Graham schools where he met the love of his life Doris Reams and they were married for 54 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. George worked with Moore's Excavation for many years. He retired from North Hill 2 Towers in their maintenance department. He enjoyed the outdoors and watching races at Kil-Kare. George was a big-hearted and an all around nice guy, most of all he loved being with his family.
George was the best father anyone could ask for. He was not a perfect man, but he was a good man. He taught his sons how to work on things, whether they wanted to or not. He taught them right from wrong and how to be a good man with a good work ethic. He was kind, compassionate and would help anyone. He had many friends, most of whom he cared deeply about through the years. We would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, especially Hali, Brooke and Chaplin Jay for their care.
He is survived by his loving wife Doris Frieszell; sons, David Frieszell, Joshua (Natalie) Frieszell, Michael (Debbie) Frieszell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Teri Hutchinson, Cathy Conley and brother, Rick Frieszell.
