MECHANICSBURG - Jane E. (Evans) Byrne, 77, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Hearth and Home of Urbana.
Jane was born May 17, 1945 in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Rasmussen) Evans. She was a lifetime member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Jane was the queen of keeping track of everyone's birthdays and anniversaries. You could always expect to see a card from her. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stich, jig saw puzzles and baking pies. Jane loved Colorado, outdoors, flowers, and her many years of working at the Rawah Ranch. She enjoyed cheerleading in high school and was the homecoming queen. She made lifelong friends during her time showing 4-H shorthorn cattle at the Champaign county fair.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Allen (Tim Damron), John Kent, Jason (Missy) Kent and James (Laura) Kent; grandchildren, Nash Allen, Cole Allen, Cade Allen, Miriam Allen, Rebecca Kent, Joey Kent, Matt Kent, Chris Kent, Savannah Brady, J.P. Kent and Cori Kent; great grandchild, Evelynn Brady; siblings, John (Linda) Evans, Margaret Wolf; 4 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022 in SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022 in the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Mimi officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, 50 N. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
