Janet Cook

NORTH LEWISBURG - Janet Lee (Hoffman) Cook, 75, of North Lewisburg passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in her home.

She was born June 23, 1941 in Fletcher, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Clarabelle (Piper) Hoffman.

Janet was a member of Milford Center Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, singing, playing the guitar, baking, reading, sewing, and watching John Cena wrestling and Alaskan shows. Janet had a passion for raising miniature horses, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Joe) Spillman of Mechanicsburg and Lora Riffle of Urbana; her son, Douglas Cook (Melissa Kauffman) of North Lewisburg; her 9 grandchildren, Rebecka Doss, April Wright, Chad Cook, Sky Coe, Travis Cook, Emily Cook, Michael Perry, Tiffany Foor, and Shelby Riffle; her 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Dolly Stepp; her brothers, John and Dan Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Edward Cook; her son, George E. Cook; her brothers, Frank, Robert, Richard, Dennis, Vern, and Marvin Hoffman; and her sisters, Hazel Hoffman and Carrie Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 in the FRESHWATER, McDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg, with Pastor Clay Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery.
