URBANA – Linda Lou Kite, 76 of Urbana, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, in her home with her family by her side.
She was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late Evan and Sylvia (Evans) Dibert.
Linda was a 1965 graduate of Graham High School. Following high school she married the love of her life, Robert Lynn Kite, on Feb. 6, 1967, in the Terre Haute United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Turner.
Linda was a true homemaker. She loved baking and made the best homemade noodles. She had a special knack for decorating her home. She enjoyed working outside either in her flower garden or riding her lawnmower. Linda also enjoyed reading, shopping, and traveling to Pigeon Forge; but most of all she loved going to town with her husband, Bobby, and running around.
Linda is survived by her husband, Bobby Kite; her sons, Jeff (Dayna) Kite, Evan (Sheila) Kite and Robbie (Toni) Kite; 8 grandchildren, Katy Kite, Jesse (Jenna) Kite, Garrett (Mercedes) Kite, Brittany Kite, Jennifer (Dustin) Eckurd, Olivia Kite, Marlee Kite, Si Allen; 2 great-grandchildren, Jace Kite, Tucker Eckurd and 3 on the way; her brother, Danny (Denise) Dibert; her sister, Judy Crichfield as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Paul and Helen Kite, and numerous aunts and uncles.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio, where a funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Jacob Hayward officiating.
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
