Marianne Moore Obituary

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Marianne Wade Moore passed peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025 in Resolute Baptist Hospital, New Braunfels, Texas. She was under the care of Hope Hospice due to a short, but intense battle with melanoma.

Marianne was born on Sept. 13, 1958 in Urbana, Ohio, to Phyllis Wade Kite (Bud) and the late Donald Wade.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Perry Moore, her mother, her sister, Linda (Feyzi) Serim, her sister-in-law Carolyn (L.C.) Harrison, nieces and nephews, Buddy (Tonya), Torsell, Lesley (Stephanie) Torsell, Rose (Johel) Serim Fonseca, Mark Serim, Russell (Rhonda) Harrison and LeAnna Harrison. Marianne is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela (Dennis) Torsell.

Marianne is also survived by her beloved dog, Angel, who was able to comfort her while she was hospitalized. Over the years she also received unconditional love from Dundee, Buster, Jessie and Precious. She loved all dogs, especially the ones she cared for in her home while their owners were away.

She graduated from Urbana High School in 1976 and Wright State University in 1990 with a degree in Business Management.

While in Ohio, Marianne started her volunteer service, but after relocating to San Marcos, Texas, in 2004, it became her primary vocation. After attending the annual historic home tour, she joined the Heritage Association of San Marcos. She later became President of the Guild and was instrumental in maintaining the historic Cock House. She organized volunteers, clubs, churches, and businesses to provide public lunches at the Cock House. Because of her volunteer service, she was inducted into the San Marcos Women's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Marianne was a valued member of First Baptist Church. She served on many committees including decorating the new church and hiring new personnel. She prided herself on inviting friends and neighbors to attend her church.

Marianne was a gem. She had an infectious smile and personality. She loved to shop (mostly thrift stores), decorate and cook. Marianne loved to entertain and made everyone feel comfortable in her home.

A celebration of Marianne's life will be held at First Baptist Church, 325 W. McCarty Lane, San Marcos, Texas 78666 on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. (CST). A reception will follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church San Marcos, Hope Hospice New Braunfels or the Heritage Association of San Marcos.

Marianne was such an outstanding friend. She always had special little parties for all of her friends children. Everything was done beautifully and the kids had so much fun. She just made everyone around her feel special. Marianne, her talents, her smile and personality will be very missed.
RIP Sweet friend
