URBANA – Mark Twain Moody, age 83 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away Feb. 10, 2024 in Palatka, Florida, at the Haven Hospice Care Center.
He was born Oct. 10, 1940 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Edgar and Carrie Pearl (Eubanks) Moody. Along with his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis (Boldman) Moody, siblings: David, Marilyn, Robert, and John "Jack" Moody, sisters-in-law, Leah Moody and Joyce Moody, and nieces, Sheryl Lynn Smith and Joyce Daniels.
Mark is survived by his step-son, Gary (Kim) Martin, grandchildren, Vanessa (Daniel) Scantlin and Cierra Martin, great-grandchildren, Kayman, Madi, Jacob, and Lyla, brothers, Harold (Inis Diane) Moody and Jonathan Moody, numerous nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews who loved him very much, and his dog, Crawl. Special thank you to his loving great-niece, Jessica, for her dedicated love and support.
Mark faithfully served our nation in the United States Army. Following his time in the service, Mark worked for Drackett Company. Mark served as a pastor for over 40 years at the House of Prayer Church. Mark's favorite things were visiting his brothers and spending time with his grandkids. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the WALTER AND LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home. My condolences to the Family, Special Friends and The Doucette Family He lived with over the past decade or so. Since getting to know Mark he was an excellent person to talk with and share memories with, extremely knowledgeable, with a big heart. He was a Good Man and he will be missed by all.
