WEST LIBERTY – Martha "Carolyn" Kies, born Sept. 3, 1934, ascended to Heaven on July 8, 2024.
She was the loving daughter of William and Ruby (Whitney) Weber. She married Harold E. Kies on Oct. 8, 1953.
Her entire life she was actively involved on the farm and her community. She was a dedicated wife and mother and touched the lives of many with her kind and generous heart. She lovingly cared for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She lived at Green Hills Community and enjoyed worship service, Bible study, and all the wonderful activities with her extended family at Green Hills. We want to thank the staff at Green Hills and Hospice care for all the loving care she received. She was "grandma" to all who knew her, but to her grandchildren she was "Grammy." She loved life and loved the Lord, and her faith was a constant comfort to her as well as her family.
She is survived by her children: Carol (Phil) Thompson and family, Mark (Sheri) Kies and family and Becky (Roy) Pullins and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Kies, on May 17, 2011, and grandsons Christopher N. Wilson and Chance M. Carroll.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in the Green Hills Foundation Hall, 6557 U.S. 68 S, West Liberty, Ohio.
