Richard K. Quickle, 71, of Urbana, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 11, 1942, in Bellefontaine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Wanda (Cox) Quickle. Richard retired after nearly 49 years from Navistar. He loved all things outdoors especially fishing with his family and friends. Richard was patriotic and was proud of his son and three grandchildren who have served or are currently serving in the military. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Theresa (Gardner) Quickle, three children and their spouses, Melissa and Randy Blakley of Mechanicsburg, Kimberly and Mike Wiseman of South Vienna, and Tony and Miriam Quickle of Urbana, seven grandchildren, Chelsey, Billy, Jacob, Kirstin, Shawni, Caleb and Autumn, five great-grandchildren, Haeleigh, Kameron, Mikkala, Zoe and Kira, one sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Earl Duncan of Florida, one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Peggy Monteith of Urbana, and his beloved English Mastiff "Kasey." Richard was also an avid sports enthusiast. He loved supporting the Mechanicsburg Indians (his alma mater), OSU Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and NASCAR. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013, from 5-7:00 p.m. at the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Ferncliff Cemetery.
