URBANA – Roger Lynn Fultz, 82 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025 in Vancrest of Urbana.
Roger was born on Aug. 8, 1943 in Urbana, Ohio, to the late Karl Russell Fultz and Margaret Pearl (Neer) Fultz.
A proud lifelong resident of Champaign County, Roger dedicated his life to serving others. He worked as a fireman and paramedic with the Urbana Fire Department for 26 years, where his courage, skill, and compassion touched countless lives.
Roger also served his country as a member of the Army National Guard, reflecting his deep commitment to community and service. A man of strong faith, he was a devoted member of Mechanicsburg Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and purpose. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed watching Ohio State football and spending time with his family.
Roger is survived by his sister, Sharon Mae Comer; step-daughter, Diane (Jeff) Anderson; grandchildren, Lori (Welch) Fulton, Nikki (Welch) (Danny) Morrow, Matthew Tobias, Amanda Tobias, Nicole Fultz; great-grandchildren, Chaney, Eli, Hayden, Ryan, Alex, Ryder, Ashton, Kenley, Briella, Nicholas, Gabriel; great-great-grandchildren, Mia, Mack, Amiris, Icarus, Wynona, Cameron, Kayson, Elix, Emerson; as well as nieces and nephews, Kelly, Joyce, Teresa, Brian Fultz and Kervin Fultz.
Roger is preceded in death by his loving wife, Glendine Fultz (Sherman-Tobias); parents; sons, Ricky Fultz, Steve Tobias, Mark Tobias; brother, Kervin Keith Fultz; grandson, Ryan Tobias; son-in-law, Jeff Anderson; as well as his brother-in-law, Stephen Lee Comer.
Roger was a beloved in-law and fellowship brother to the many many brothers and sisters of the nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Sherman family. He was a brother of the Urbana Fire Department with many wonderful friends and family. The family wants to extend a heartfelt thanks to the medical staff of Vancrest.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025 in Mechanicsburg Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Funeral service will follow at noon in the church with Pastor Jonathan Purdy officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Urbana Fire Department or Mechanicsburg Baptist Church or Ohio Valley's Hospice, honoring Roger's lifelong dedication to service and faith.
