Shirley Summers Obituary
SPRINGFIELD - Shirley Elizabeth Summers, 87, of Springfield, Ohio, previously of Russells Point, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 in her daughter's residence surrounded by family.
Shirley was born October 14, 1934 in Quincy, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Jewell) Stokes. Shirley retired from D.A.B. in Bellefontaine, Ohio after 41 years of service. Shirley enjoyed the simple pleasures of tending her flowers, redecorating her condo and visiting with family and neighbors.
Shirley is survived by her son Rick (Gloria) Davis, daughter Rebecca (John) Shanley, grandchildren Brittany (Eric) Warrick, Dylan Davis, and great- grandson Deagan Davis, stepchildren Pam Scott and Dickie (Jane) Summers; several step grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Paul "Bud" Summers. Shirley and Bud were married July 13, 1979.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 6330 Willow Dale Road, Springfield, OH 45502.
