URBANA – Timothy Edwin Schwaderer, age 64 of Urbana, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Tim spent 32 years working at Honda of America, retiring in 2018 as a senior staff engineer and manager, but his roots were planted deep in the soil of Ohio. Growing up on the family farm in LaRue, he worked alongside his loved ones, tending to crops and animals, and kept the farm close to his heart throughout his life.
A proud 1979 graduate of Elgin High School, Tim was a dedicated member of FFA, where he honed his skills and love for agriculture. In 1999, Tim and his wife, Debbie, planted their roots in Urbana, settling into a charming Victorian brick home that they loved. In 2024, they completed an addition to the home they had designed together — a true labor of love.
Tim's heart was always tethered to the land. He had a special connection to his John Deere tractor and a deep fondness for his white Ford truck. Whether he was tending to his garden, trapping coyotes and beavers, or simply working the farm, the outdoors was his sanctuary. His passion for antique collecting was matched only by his love for the farm life he cherished.
When it came to adventure, Tim was never one to shy away. He and Debbie traveled across the country, exploring Montana, Wyoming, Maine, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and the Great Lakes, soaking in the beauty of the wide-open spaces. But no matter where life took him, the great outdoors was always his true home.
A man of many talents, Tim was known for his generous spirit, his gift of gab, and his infectious sense of humor. His storytelling could brighten any room, and his truth-telling nature meant you never quite knew what he was going to say next. His family, friends, and neighbors were always welcomed by his listening ear and helping hand, as he was deeply devoted to those he loved.
Tim was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed supporting his sons with Boy Scouts and 4-H, raising chickens, and was proud to be a loyal grandson of Edwin and Lucille Carey of Carey Farms and Hatchery in Green Camp, Ohio. Tim was also a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. His memory will live on through the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the legacy of love and devotion he leaves behind.
He was born Oct. 23, 1960 in Marion, Ohio, and was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Schwaderer and his sister, Jacqueline Schwaderer; his father-in-law, George Miller; his brother-in-law, Brad Conley; and his first wife, Lisa Oldham Schwaderer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Deborah Sue Miller Schwaderer, whom he married Nov. 16, 1991 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion; his sons, Ben (Sharon) Schwaderer of LaRue, Josh Schwaderer of Prospect and Colby Schwaderer of Laramie, Wyoming; his grandchildren, Ashton and Bristol; his mother, Ruth Ann (Roger) Stoffer of Vero Beach, Florida; his sister, Andrea (Bob) Ochall; his mother-in-law, Wilma Miller; his brother-in-law, Eddie (Carol) Miller; his sister-in-law, Jodie Conley; four nephews, Drew (Katie) Conley, Alex Conley, Kyle (Jessica) Miller and Cole (Miller); two nieces, Chelsea (Mustafizur) Rahman and Marissa (Kevin) Awe; and many other relatives, good friends and close neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME in Marysville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
