Adam Verenich
Utica
Adam Verenich, of Utica, passed away January 23, 2012, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born in Belarus on December 14, 1927. Adam was married to Olga Brutsky, a blessed union that lasted for 60 years. She passed away November 3, 2007. On January 11, 1989, they came to the United States. Shortly after, their children along with their families joined them and now all reside in Oneida and Herkimer counties. This year the family celebrated Adams 84th birthday. He was a wonderful, caring father to his 10 surviving children: daughter, Maria Brutsky and her husband, Anatoly; daughter, Nina Kukharchuk and her husband, Leonty; son, Fred Verenich and wife, Elena; son, Mikhail Verenich and wife, Maria; son, Gregory Verenich and wife, Tatyana; daughter, Tatyana Zhushma and husband, Nikolay; son, Pavel Verenich and wife, Polina; son, Steven Verenich and wife, Natalia; daughter, Ludmila Shilo and her late husband, Ivan; and daughter, Nadia Matev and husband, Sergey. Adam will also be remembered by his 65 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include three brothers and two sisters in Belarus and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. The family offers a special thanks to Pastor Evans and Pastor Dodd, their families and the congregation of the Calvary Gospel Church in New York Mills for their warm welcome into this country and their continuous friendship. The family is also grateful for the prayers, support and friendship of the Pastors and congregation of the Slavic Pentecostal Church of West Schuyler, where Adam was a diligent member. Visitation will be Wednesday (today) from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court @ York Streets, Utica. Adams funeral service will commence on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Slavic Pentecostal Church, 2191 Herkimer Rd., Schuyler. A Christian burial will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Oneida St., Utica.
