Alfonse Napoli Obituary
UTICA, NY - Alfonse "Snookie" Napoli, 74, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 10, 2018.
He was born in Utica, March 9, 1944, a son of the late Frank and Evelyn (Stefanini) Napoli. Al was educated in local schools and graduated from TR Proctor High School in 1963. Following high school, he worked in the radio receiver division of General Electric on Bleecker Street. Al was a licensed plumber, and owned and operated Steuben Plumbing for over forty years.
On November 6, 1965, he married his childhood sweetheart, Rockie Pisano. Al and Rockie have shared over fifty-two loving years, totally committed to each other and their family whom he cherished above all else. His six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were his greatest joy.
An avid outdoorsman, Al loved to hunt in the Adirondacks and spent many hunting seasons at "The Utica Club" camp that he and his friends built and enjoyed for many years.
A true gentleman in every sense of the word, Al was beloved, not only by his family, but also his many friends. Ask anyone that knew him and all would say, "what a great guy!". Snookie will truly be missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rockie; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Napoli, of Utica, and daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Joseph Talarico, of New Hartford; his grandchildren, Alphonse, John, Jr., and Frank Napoli, Jack, Sophia, and Joey Talarico; two great-granddaughters, Gianna and Santina Napoli; brothers-in-law and sister-in law, Larry and Rae Ann Pisano and Michael Pisano and Donna Caruso; a nephew, Anthony Pisano; and many beloved friends too numerous to mention. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Larry and Margaret Pisano, and brother-in-law, John Pisano.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Historic Old St. John's Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers of Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care and compassion, and special thanks to his dear friend, Pam Flemma, who was always there for him.
