REMSEN, NY - Mrs. Amy Martin Abbott passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Amy was born in 1978, in Bridgeport, CT, to Daniel and Stella Poczatek Martin. She graduated from Poland Central School in 1996.
Amy was a loving mother and wife who enjoyed adventure and exploring with her family. She enhanced the lives of friends and family with her wittiness and always had the right comment at the right moment. Amy studied business in college and practiced her love of business in the field of optometry.
Amy was fond of the arts, especially music. She would share her insights and interpretations of art and nature with family and friends for hours. She was inspired by nature and looked for ways to incorporate it into food, drinks, her surroundings and everyday life. Amy's hobbies included playing board games with family and friends, traveling, reading and hosting social get-togethers.
Amy had a strong spirit that fought for what she believed in and always looked for a good challenge. She was proud to have unorthodox views and approaches. She was a lady of nature and celebrated her beliefs. Amy was ordained and provided non-judgmental celebrations of joy and companionship to many happy and loving couples.
Amy is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Abbott; daughter, Sierra Abbott; mother, Stella Martin; siblings, Caroline (David) Rasch, Elizabeth Martin and Daniel (Helena) Martin; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a large extended family and several friends. Amy is also survived by her canine companion, Apollo.
She was predeceased by her father, Daniel Martin; grandparents; and an aunt.
In keeping with Amy's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Amy's Life will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Trenton Town Park, upper pavilion, Fish Hatchery Road, Barneveld.
Amy was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Amy's memory to your local humane society.
