Angeline Penge Obituary
UTICA - Mrs. Angeline (Sopo) Penge, age 97, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Masonic Care Community, with the love and support of her family.
She was born on January 10, 1921, in Utica, a daughter of the late Stefano and Rose Tomaselli Sopo, and was educated in local schools. On July 31, 1939, she was united in marriage to Marco Penge in St. Anthony of Padua Church, a blessed union of 67 years until his passing on February 18, 2007.
Angeline was employed at UNIVAC for over 20 years, ICL and Price Chopper until her retirement.
She was a parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, a member of the Ladies Aux. of the Knights of St. John Commandry #385, and her dear Cousins Club.
Surviving are her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Mariano and Jeanette Penge, of Utica; her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Jeffrey Jones, of Ravena, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Mark Penge and Dorothy Cacciatore, Deborah LiVolsi and Josh Ambrose; her beloved great-grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew and Olivia LiVolsi, Sophia and Mariana Penge and Isabelle Ambrose; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen Penge, in 1963; one brother, Joseph Sopo; three sisters, Rose and husband, Joseph Colicci, Marion and husband, Joseph Cappozella, and Mildred and husband, Joseph Della Galla; and several in-laws.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc., 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 4:00 in the funeral home with the Rev. Father Mark Kaminski officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Ladies Auxiliary will assemble at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. for services.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Angeline. Envelopes will be available.
