Angelo Nole Obituary

Angelo V.
Nole
UTICA
Mr. Angelo V. Nole, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. At the time of his death he was in the presence and the hearts of those who love him. He was born on August 20, 1934, a son of the late George A. and Virginia A. (Taverne) Nole. A graduate of T.R. Proctor High School, he also served as a Reservist for the US Navy Seebees. On June 18, 1955 he married the former Angela Melchiorre; they shared a loving marriage that was filled with family and friends. Angelo was the president of George A. Nole & Son, Inc., a prominent general contracting company formed by his father in 1945. Angelo joined the business in 1950 as an apprentice brick layer, and in 1966 the word Son was added to the company name. He leaves a legacy of many landmark buildings. As quoted by Angelo, We dont have bricklayers. We have craftsmen who lay bricks. His many diverse friendships exemplified his workmanship they were built on strong foundations and lasted a lifetime. He was sensitive to the needs of others, had an infectious smile, and was a mentor to many. He was a member and generous supporter of countless social and civic groups. He was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Agnes Church and practiced his faith at the Utica College Newman Center. He was also a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Angelo is survived by his wife, Angela; his daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Thomas Dosch of Clinton; and his son and daughter-in-law, Angelo, Jr. and Diana L. Nole of Pittsford, NY. Always close to his heart was the memory of his son, George, who passed away in 1975. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Caitlin, Christopher, and Laura Dosch; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Joseph Donovan, and Connie and Eugene Corasanti; his cherished nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, an aunt, Millie Digironimo; in-laws, Nunzio Melchiorre, Lucy and Sydney Sid Segal, Jane Melchiorre, Rosemary Melchiorre, and Peter Greco; and many lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Guy and Virginia Melchiorre, Daniel and Ann Melchiorre, Faustine Melchiorre, Cosmo Red Melchiorre, Frank and Anna Melchiorre, Alfred and Carolyn Melchiorre, Joseph Melchiorre, Marie Dolores Greco, Angelo Melchiorre, Jr., and Orrie Polacelli. The family extends a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, especially the 4th Floor staff who provided kind and heartfelt care to Angelo; and Fr. Paul Drobin for his friendship and spiritual inspiration. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00-7:00 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 2222 Genesee Street, Utica. Family and friends are invited to attend Angelos Mass of Christian Burial which will commence on Tuesday morning at 10:30 atSt. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay Street, Utica. When I first met Angelo I felt like a stranger for about two minutes then that great smile and huge, wonderful personality drew me in and I felt like I had been his friend forever. I've never met anyone who enjoyed life more than Angelo and I think he could talk to anyone about anything at anytime. He will be missed.

Angela, Ginny, Angelo

Words cannot describe how sorry I am to hear of Angelo's sudden passing. I am having a tough time, but I know it's harder for all of you. I had a special relationship with Angelo. As a kid, most kids had Super Heroes or people they wanted to be like. Mine was Angie Nole. When I was growing up in Utica, and was out with Angelo, we couldn't pass anywhere without him shaking hands or saying a Hello to someone.
I remember getting into a debate with my classmates about who had the biggest and best construction company. This lead to a fist fight……But it was all worth it to defend my HERO. I had Nole pens, stickers, hats, and wore them PROUDLY. When I would meet Angelo, he always made me feel special. When it came time for my Confirmation, Angelo honored me in becoming my Godfather. I remember being in church that day, saying to myself, I have Angelo Nole as my Godfather! Some years later I moved to Florida. When Angelo was in town, he always made an effort to see me. Of course I would drop everything I was doing to see him. First we had to start off at The Elbo Room in Ft. Lauderdale and have a drink for Uncle George. Through the years I got married, my first Son arrived. Well, I had to honor him with the name of two of the most important figures in my life, Angelo & My Father. Again, I asked Angelo to be a Godfather again. This time to my Son. I would tell my son about his Godfather, so maybe he could be a little like him. Growing up in Florida, was a different place than Utica. A few years ago, Angelo visited me at my business. He pulled me aside and said, I'm very proud of you. I didn't know what to say. Coming from him…..WoW! We are going to miss him so much! That Big Heart, that smile! It could light up any room! WE LOVE YOU!

The Michael Frame family of Rochester NY sends our warms wishes and condolences to all the Noles for the loss of Amgelo. I had only met Angelo on a couple of occasions. However, since one of the greatest measures of a man is the quality, integrity and heart you see in their children, I know Angelo was an incredible human, because his son Ange (my business partner of 15 years) has those fine attributes in great abundance! All of love goes out to you all....Godspeed! Michael Frame
