Mrs. Bessie Hendricks, 91, of Utica, New York, passed away on August 3rd, 2015, at the Pines at Utica Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 3, 1925, in Alachua, Florida, the daughter of Sivenia Terry. She was preceded by her late husband, Roy Kerr Hendricks, and also by three adult children, Ronnie, Robin and Shirley Hendricks. Bessie Hendricks was a loving house wife who enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was known for her cooking and out going personality. Surviving her are nine children, Roy Hendricks, Jr. (Romaine), James Hendricks, William Hendricks (Elizabeth), Terry Hendricks, Stephen Hendricks, Thomas Hendricks (Lisa), Robert Hendricks, Doris Griffin and Ronald Tarver, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the funeral service and celebration of life service on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 1:00 at Peter Spencer's, 841 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY. Calling hours will be held from 12:00 to 1:00. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to both Cindy Kennedy and also to Danielle Nowack for the care and compassion given to our loved one; your kindness will never be forgotten. The family would also like to request that any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the direction of T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Services, Inc., 144 Eagle Street, Utica.

To the family, I was sadden to learn of Ms Bessie's transition. My first memories of her was on Blandina Street. She was always fun to be around, always made me feel at home and always told a story or two. May God continue to comfort and keep you during this time and always.
