SAUQUOIT - Mr. Carmen G. Vitullo, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at home with his loving wife by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Ogdensburg on March 16, 1947, the son of the late Carmen N. and Jacqueline M. (Ladouceur) Vitullo. He was raised and educated in Utica, graduating from T.R. Proctor High School in 1965. On July 16, 1983 he married his best friend and the love of his life, Nancy Toner with whom he shared many adventures. The two of them were never separated. Carmen worked for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in Utica for over 31 years before retiring when the company relocated.
Carmen was a lover of life who traveled the world. At any time, he might be on a safari in South Africa, eating tripe in Rome, Italy, or landing on a glacier in a helicopter in Alaska! He was an avid hunter and a lover of the outdoors. Carmen also was masterful in the kitchen which his wife greatly appreciated.
Carmen leaves beautiful memories to his beloved wife Nancy of almost 38 years; in-laws, Sharon and Steve Schreck, and Donna and Robert Williams; nieces, Michelle Linder and partner Craig, and Kristen and Luke Willson, as well as several other nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Wendy Stillman. All of these treasured people were there for Carmen and whose help was greatly appreciated. He also leaves behind, as part of his family, his two furry cat friends, Bella and Emma. Carmen was predeceased by his only son, Philip Vitullo in 2016; and his half-brother, Ronald Scardina.
