Charles Morawiec Obituary

Charles P. (Charlie) Morawiec, 66, of Marcy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 5, 2012. He was born in Poland, Europe, on June 29, 1946, the son of Kazimierz and Maria Lachut Morawiec, and came to the US in 1965. In 1972, he married Genowefa Kosmider in St. Marys Church, New York Mills. Charlie was employed with Joseph & Feiss, the Xerox Co. and Mohawk Valley Community College until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Marys Our Lady of Czestochowa. Charlie will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He had many hobbies which included beekeeping, gardening and tending to his chickens. His survivors include his loving wife, Jenny Morawiec, of Marcy; his two sons, Jimmy Morawiec, of Floyd, and Gregory and his wife, Kristie Morawiec, of Marcy; a brother, Chester and Donna Morawiec, of Marcy; his beloved grandchildren, Brooke, Madison, Brenna, Tara and Aubrey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Celena Pyzik. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart/St. Marys Church, New York Mills. Those that wish may call on Thursday (today) from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 284 Main Street, New York Mills. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus & Casimer Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Church, 201 Main Street, New York Mills, NY 13417. Light a Candle at: www.kowalczykfuneralhomes.com

Uncle Charlie was always willing to give a smile, hand or hug. He was a great man. He will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers go to Ciocia, Jimmy, Greg, and their families.
